Summary

Amends the

Migration Act 1958
to provide a legislative framework for the collection of personal identifiers, such as fingerprints and handprints, photographs, physical measurements, audio and video recordings, signatures, iris scans and any other identifiers prescribed in regulations, from certain non-citizens at key points in the immigration process.

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of country throughout Australia and acknowledge their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the elders past, present and emerging.
